Will an Associate Degree help me to get a job?

Answered By Devon Turnhill, Editor

An Associate degree prepares you for a higher education, normally a Bachelors degree or trains you in a specific field or expertise. With an Associate degree, you are actually given a sub-professional accreditation or certification in the field you studied or trained for. An Associate of Arts in Accounting or an Associate of Arts in Health Administration therefore accredits someone as trained or knowledgeable in the said fields, thus offering him better job chances. While most employers would prefer a Bachelor degree holder, some employers do go for Associate degree holders, depending on the degree. Some who are working would take on an Associate degree for promotion or job advancement.

Depending on the institution, many Associate degrees are recognized by companies, businesses and other institutions of higher education as at par with their standards.
